Your chance to benefit from quality training held locally

Did you know that, as a Cambridge Network member, you have the opportunity to benefit from quality training courses held locally? Coming up soon in the Network's Learning Collaboration calendar: presentation skills for novice presenters, and finance for non-financial managers.

Introduction to Presentation Skills on 17th June is a one-day workshop designed for individuals who have little or no experience of presenting. The workshop provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals to practise skills and gain confidence in their presentation ability.

By the end of the workshop delegates will be able to prepare, create and deliver a presentation with confidence, and will:

  • Understand stress, its effects and coping strategies
  • Gain skills to look and sound confident even under stress
  • Create, structure and bring to life effective content
  • Develop and use prompts to depend on during the presentation.

Finance for Non-financial Managers on 30th June is also a one-day course, this time designed to send you back into your business confident in your understanding and application of basic financial terms and concepts.

It assumes no prior knowledge and uses everyday terminology to dispel the mists put up by the financial world which perhaps encourage you to believe it is difficult – it isn’t; and what’s more, it can be fun!

You will leave with the ability to:

  • Manage working capital and cash flow better
  • Maximise profitability
  • Read financial statements
  • Interpret the figures
  • Understand the jargon used in the financial world.
