Mewburn Ellis makes £219,000 commitment to charity partnerships

LONDON –To mark the International Day of Charity (September 5^th), Mewburn Ellis LLP announces a commitment of £219,000 to its charity partnerships for 2023/2024 through its Forward Community Program Charity Fund, supporting local, national, and international causes.

Major donations include £40,000 to support the British Science Association and their CREST Awards programme, as part of an ongoing partnership exceeding £128,000 in support since 2020. The 2023 donation will support 600 disadvantaged primary students to participate in hands-on science investigations through staff training, educational resources, and almost 5000 science engagement hours.

£20,000 has been donated to FoodCycle to  provide the equivalent of 5,000 community meals to vulnerable people across the country; £20,000 to Jonathan’s Voice to fund the continuing development of new educational materials for workplaces, industry bodies and universities to promote mental wellbeing within the IP industry; and £20,000 to Support Dogs to develop a puppy through the different stages of training into its role as a disability, autism or seizure alert dog.

Since the establishment of the fund in 2020, one percent of Mewburn Ellis’ profit each year is donated to community giving alongside an ongoing GiftAid programme with charitable support made via the fund amounting to over £790,000.

2023/2024 Community Giving Program

Community giving is structured on both a firmwide and local office level to ensure maximum impact is achieved in the industries and communities in which Mewburn Ellis operates. Further, Mewburn Ellis’ supports charities specific to its corporate values as represented through employee network groups including the WoMEn of Mewburn Ellis Network, the I&D Collaboration Group, and the LGBTQ+ME Group. Alongside financial support, everyone that works at Mewburn Ellis receives one community day per year to support causes of their choosing.
