New term, new opportunities for learning

Has the new school term prompted you to think about learning more or improving your professional skills? If so, Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration offers a range of courses over the coming months to help you boost your capabilities.

For example, there are still a few places left for Improving Personal Impact & Influence, a one-day workshop which takes place on Wednesday 19 September at Eagle Labs (7-8 Clifton Court, Cherry Hinton Road, CB1 7BN).

Have you left meetings wishing that you had spoken out or had a greater share of the airtime? Recognising that people are different, have you wondered how you can adapt your style of communication to better connect with others? Learn a consistently effective model of influence that you can deploy when needed.

Essentials of Management on Thursday 1 November at Double Tree by Hilton Cambridge Belfry ( Back Lane, Cambourne, CB23 6BW) is the first in a series of eight half-day sessions that take place over six months.

This programme is aimed at those who are new into management as well as those who have experience in their management role but have never undertaken any formal development.  It is designed to share skills and knowledge, which, if adopted, will make life in the management role an easier experience.  The learning is extremely practical, relevant and real, and can be applied back in the team and workplace immediately.

The course recognises that managing people on a day to day basis is challenging and often the most difficult part of a managers’ role.  You will benefit from comprehensive management training, and an on-going, exclusive peer group learning platform across the six months.

Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Qualification: As part of this programme, there is an opportunity to achieve an ILM Level 3 Award Qualification.
